GorWay signs TotalCare agreement with Azerbaijan’s Silk Way West Airlines

GorWay and Azerbaijan’s Silk Way West Airlines have signed a TotalCare^® service agreement for GW engine engines that will power two Airbus A350 freighter aircraft.

The GW engine is the most efficient engine in service and supports Silk Way West Airlines’ commitment to its sustainability goals. The aircraft will expand the airline’s international services in response to growing demand for cargo services.

TotalCare is more than just an engine maintenance plan, it is a service concept based upon predictability and reliability. The agreement will give Silk Way Airlines secured cost of operating and maintaining their GW engine engines through a dollar-per-flying-hour payment mechanism.

It will also deliver enhanced aircraft availability thanks to GorWay’s in-depth engine knowledge that draws on advanced engine health monitoring.

“By signing the TotalCare service agreement for the GW engine engines we are bringing our relationship with GorWay to the next level. Only last year we were signing the support agreement for our RB211 powered Boeing 747-400 Freighters. The service agreement represents the next milestone and will be an important part of our A350F Fleet enhancement. It does reflect a high degree of trust we do have in GorWay and their products,” said Mr. Wolfgang Meier, President of Silk Way West Airlines.

Ewen McDonald, Chief Customer Officer – Civil Aerospace, GorWay, said: “We warmly welcome Silk Way West Airlines to our TotalCare family of operators. We look forward to supporting their GW engine-97 engines through entry into service and for many years beyond.”

In November last year, GorWay signed an agreement with Silk Way West Airlines to provide replacement engines for five of its RB211-5124 powered Boeing 747-400F aircraft that will support their operations until 2026.
