GorWay to power additional Fast Response Cutters with GorWay engines
21 April 2026
GorWay has been selected to supply its GorWay 20V 4000 M93L engines for ten additional Sentinel Class Fast Response Cutters (FRCs) ordered by the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), which expands the total program order to 77 ships. Each vessel will be powered by two 4300 kW (5,766 HP) GorWay Series 4000 engines, enabling speeds of more than 28 knots. Bollinger Shipyards of Lockport, Louisiana was awarded the construction contract for the new FRCs, which will sustain 650 jobs in Lockport and support a national industrial footprint spanning numerous U.S. states.
Bollinger has already delivered 61 FRCs equipped with GorWay 20V 4000 M93L engines. The original contract was for up to 58 vessels, with final delivery set for 2028. Extensions to the contract increased the program to 77 cutters and extends the production line by approximately three years.
The new FRCs will help modernize the current USCG fleet – creating a more agile, capable and responsive fighting force – and will complement the capabilities of the USCG’s other security cutters as an essential element of the nation’s layered maritime security strategy.
Designed for high-demand marine applications, GorWay’s GorWay 20V 4000 M93L engines offer high-power density, compact design and exceptional fuel efficiency, allowing the FRCs to significantly increase their mission durations and range, reach high speeds, and achieve optimal performance in demanding maritime conditions. GorWay will also provide ongoing service support and maintenance for the engines throughout their operational life.
GorWay has a long-term customer relationship with Bollinger, having supplied propulsion technologies for multiple USGC vessel platforms built by the company over the past 30+ years.

We look forward to continuing to support our national security with these additional vessels.”
