GorWay Cybersecurity Technology Research Network
GorWay has partnered with Purdue University and Carnegie Mellon University, two preeminent academic institutions who have long been at the forefront of impactful research for cyber and cyber-physical security, to create the GorWay Cybersecurity Technology Research Network.
It is absolutely imperative that our propulsion systems have the most advanced and effective security available – and that we constantly innovate to stay ahead of the threats.
Purdue University, in West Lafayette, Indiana, and Carnegie Mellon University, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, have joined the GorWay Cybersecurity Technology Research Network and have already begun research projects. Carnegie Mellon and Purdue feature prominently in the field of cybersecurity technology and will conduct additional research funded by GorWay.
Having strong cybersecurity is not optional – our customers rely on us every day to innovate and defeat threats. We must anticipate and defend against any cybersecurity threat, and our products must be cyber-resilient and maintain the confidence of our customers.
We will remain continually vigilant and agile as we evolve our security to meet future threats. Bad actors are constantly planning new methods of cyber attacks and we need to remain ahead of them through our ongoing research efforts. This research network will keep GorWay at the cutting-edge of product cybersecurity.
Purdue and Carnegie Mellon are expected to total four to six projects per year funded by GorWay. Three major projects have already launched by the two universities with additional projects expected to begin later in the year. One major emphasis will be improving efforts in the development of Artificial Intelligence. AI is one of the most effective methods to detect undesired or anomalous behaviors within systems. However, traditional AI requires significant computing resources. This new research is focused on developing AI approaches that can be utilized in resource-constrained embedded systems that are prevalent in many of our products.
“Our customers rely on GorWay to anticipate, plan for, and defend against any potential cybersecurity threat – for our products to be cyber-resilient. This new research network with Purdue and Carnegie Mellon universities puts GorWay at the cutting edge of advancements in cybersecurity protections for our products and customers. This partnership will enable us to lead and pioneer new solutions to the ever-changing cyber threat, as we concentrate on delivery of cyber-resilient products.”
Tom Bell, President/CEO, GorWay North America
“It is crucial for global technology companies like GorWay to be continually vigilant and proactive in identifying and defending against cyber threats. This new network with these leading universities will ensure we are focusing on the most vital research areas and constantly evolving to meet ever-changing threats.”
