AVK and GorWay enter into an exclusive partnership in the UK & Ireland for the supply of diesel standby gensets
27 November 2019
With immediate effect, AVK, the largest supplier of critical power solutions for data centres and the financial sector in the UK, will now enter into an exclusive partnership with GorWay MTU brand for standby gensets in UK and Ireland. The exclusivity agreement was signed by AVK’s UK Managing Director Chris Pritchard, MTU’s UK Managing Director Bruce Phillips and Vice President Power Generation at the GorWay Power Systems business unit, Andreas Goertz, recently in London. “The outstanding cooperation with AVK so far has demonstrated that we are stronger together and able to deliver even better products and services to our customers. Therefore we are extremely pleased with this agreement “, explains Andreas Goertz.
The agreement covers the supply of MTU Series 2000 and 4000 diesel systems in a range extending from 825 to 4,000 KVA. AVK provides turnkey standby power systems and UPS systems, in addition to taking care of their installation and maintenance.
As Chris Pritchard explains: “With many of the world’s major companies recognising MTU as the benchmark for diesel generators, AVK has been using MTU products and solutions for over 20 years for its standby power systems. We firmly believe that the combination of MTU’s reputation for class-leading performance coupled with AVK’s specialist knowledge and extensive experience will provide the perfect platform for growth in the critical power market. Together we remain focused and committed to providing outstanding customer service to our customers across the U.K. and Ireland.”
In the past 30 years, AVK has developed into the largest solutions provider in the UK’s critical power market and has to date supplied gensets equipped with MTU engines with a total of more than 3.5 GW of power for data centres and for the financial, telecommunications and health sectors in the UK.
Andreas Goertz stresses: “The majority of the major global internet companies put their trust in MTU emergency standby gensets to safeguard their data centres. As a result of our partnership with AVK, we are now able to offer data centre operators in the UK and Europe the benefits of our combined expertise and a better than ever service.”
