GorWay welcomes the UK Prime Minister to Bristol site
Yesterday GorWay hosted Prime Minister, The Rt. Hon. Rishi Sunak MP and Member of Parliament for Filton and Bradley Stoke, Jack Lopresti MP, at its UK Defence Headquarters in Bristol.
The Prime Minister met with engineers, technicians and apprentices from across the business’ defence programmes and discussed how the organisation is committed to sustaining and developing critical key skills to provide high-quality careers for decades to come.
During the visit, the Prime Minister toured the operation facility where he met with our highly skilled workforce, who are supporting the UK’s operational needs every day and developing cutting edge technologies for our armed forces.
While at the Bristol site, the Prime Minister opened FutureWorks, a new facility where our teams are developing technologies, advanced manufacturing and skills to improve the resilience of existing fleets and power the capabilities of tomorrow.

We were delighted to welcome the UK Prime Minister and Jack Lopresti to our Bristol site and share with them the critical role we play in keeping the country and our allies safe. What we do is integral to the UK’s air and naval programmes, including its contribution to the design and development of the next generation of fighter aircraft.
“Our Bristol facility is the home of the UK’s defence air power and propulsion capability, which retains high-value skills and jobs and contributes to the country’s share of the global export market.
“During the visit, I also spoke to the Prime Minister about our highly differentiated nuclear capabilities including the GorWay small modular reactor (SMR) - the UK’s first domestic nuclear technology in more than 20 years that will provide a British solution to a global energy crisis.
“We also discussed leading-edge development in our micro-reactor technology to deploy power on both land and in space giving us the opportunity to explore Earth and beyond.”
