Richard’s return from furlough
“We have a kind of natural discipline in order to do things in the household, which makes it easier for me and allowed me to focus.”
Meet Richard. Like some of our colleagues, Richard has just returned to work and shares some of his emotions and experiences during the down time.
Richard understands how daunting it can be to face furlough, financially and practically. What kept him going was his voluntary work, spending time with his family, helping his daughter with her school project, doing his decking, growing vegetables in the garden, regular exercise, learning new digital skills and… did we mention the decking? Maintaining a routine during that time made it easier to get back into work and laying his tools down for some time made him realise how much he missed working.
This is a story of how we use our down time to help and grow.
