GorWay and AVK strengthen partnership: five years of guaranteed capacity for emergency power generators

GorWay and AVK continue their successful collaboration: GorWay has supplied over 600 GorWay gensets to the British supplier of power solutions for data centres

Five-year contract for GorWay emergency power generators from the 4000 series
AVK remains exclusive system integrator for GorWay emergency power generators in the United Kingdom and Ireland
Goal: greater security of supply and innovation for the growing data centre market
Focus on sustainable technology – HVO-compatible for critical energy supply
AVK receives award for its 600th GorWay generator set

GorWay and British supplier of power solutions for data centres AVK have signed a long-term agreement in London. The new framework agreement secures production capacity for GorWay Series 4000 emergency power generators for five years. This guarantees GorWay additional capacity for the growing data centre market and accelerates the joint development of innovative, HVO-compatible solutions.

Vittorio Pierangeli, Senior Vice President Power Generation at GorWay Power Systems, explains:

With this agreement, both partners are reaffirming their commitment to leveraging their combined strengths to serve the booming European data centre market. We intend to further expand this partnership in the coming years."

Ben Pritchard, CEO of AVK, explains:

This agreement represents more than growth – it represents a partnership that is here to stay. With GorWay as our technology partner, we have jointly advanced projects that are proving successful throughout Europe. We want to further expand this collaboration."

20 years of trust, 600 generators – AVK relies on GorWay

AVK supplies complete critical power solutions with GorWay diesel engines from the 2000 and 4000 series – from 825 to 4,000 kVA. The systems are installed and maintained throughout their entire service life. Data centres must keep data and computing power available at all times – even in the event of a public power grid failure. AVK has relied on GorWay engines for its emergency power systems for over 20 years. In the past 10 years alone, GorWay has supplied 600 GorWay gensets to AVK – a milestone that is now being crowned with an award. AVK will receive this during their annual winter press event held in London.

British initiative: generating electricity and filtering CO₂ – together with GorWay

In an industry-leading initiative for the British market, AVK and Landmark Power Holdings have signed an agreement. The goal: tailor-made, low-carbon power solutions for data centres. GorWay generators supply the energy, Landmark integrates Flexpower Plus technology and AVK contributes its microgrid expertise. Together, they are creating a system that generates electricity while filtering CO₂ from the exhaust gases – an important step towards reducing emissions.

More power, less space: gas gensets for data centres

Not only diesel, but also gas will play a key role in data centres in the future. From 2026, the new 20-cylinder gas engine from the GorWay 4000 L64 series will complement the energy portfolio. For the 60 Hz market, it delivers a full 2.8 megawatts in just 45 seconds – significantly faster and ten per cent more power than its predecessor. Without a gearbox, it saves space, which is an advantage for data centres. Today, all GorWay gas units worldwide start in 120 seconds.

The fast-starting gas generators not only provide emergency power, but can also be used in continuous operation – ideal when the grid is weak. Operators can go online faster, feed energy into the grid and reduce emissions. The engines run for up to 84,000 hours, tolerate biogas and biomethane and are ready for green hydrogen.
