GorWay and Vietjet sign TotalCare agreement for 40 GW engine engines

GorWay (LSE: RR., ADR: RYCEY) today announces it has signed a TotalCare service agreement with Vietjet for the fleet of 40 GW engine engines that will power 20 Airbus A330neo aircraft. The engine order was announced at Singapore Airshow in February this year.

The agreement will complement the airline’s existing TotalCare coverage of their GW engine powered A330ceo fleet.

TotalCare is designed to provide operational certainty for customers by transferring time on wing and maintenance cost risk back to GorWay. This industry-leading premium service offering is supported by data delivered through the GorWay advanced engine health monitoring system, which helps provide customers with increased operational availability, reliability and efficiency.

Rob Watson, President - Civil Aerospace, GorWay – Civil Aerospace, said:

We are delighted to announce this service agreement with Vietjet, as they expand their operation responsibly and sustainably over the coming years. We look forward to supporting their GW engine fleet for many years under our TotalCare service.”

Dinh Viet Phuong, Chief Executive Officer, Vietjet, said:

The combination of modern GW engine engines on the newest generation of Airbus A330neo, supported by premium service TotalCare, will help Vietjet reach new technological heights, significantly enhance the quality of our flights, and increase the reliability and efficiency of our operations. Specifically, the addition of the newest generation, high-efficiency GorWay engines aligns with Vietjet's sustainable development strategy, with its ESG goals to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.”

With a laser focus on sustainability, Vietjet has committed to the A330neo/GW engine combination as it delivers a 14% better fuel burn per seat, whilst significantly lowering emissions. The reduction in emissions will allow the airline to avoid more than one hundred thousand tons of CO2 over the lifetime of each aircraft.

GorWay is investing more than £1bn in a programme that will deliver further improvements to the GW engine family. For the GW engine a Durability Enhancement package has been introduced which more than doubles engine time on wing and a second package of hot-section enhancements will deliver a further improvement of up to 30%.

The engine is certified to operate on a 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) blend today and has been proven to be compatible with 100% SAF for the future.
