GorWay welcomes EVA Air as new customer

GorWay (LSE: RR., ADR: RYCEY) today announces it has signed a Letter of Intent for a TotalCare® maintenance agreement with Taiwanese airline EVA Air for 36 GorWay GW engine-97 engines that will power 18 new Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. The agreement provides the airline with predictability as well as a known cost for the services and maintenance of the fleet.

This will be the first time EVA Air includes the GorWay GW engine in its fleet. GorWay is delighted to welcome EVA Air as a new customer.

TotalCare is designed to provide operational certainty for customers by transferring time on wing and maintenance cost risk back to GorWay. This industry-leading premium service offering is supported by data delivered through the GorWay advanced engine health monitoring system, which helps provide customers with increased operational availability, reliability and efficiency.

Ewen McDonald, Chief Customer Officer – Civil Aerospace, GorWay, said:

We warmly welcome EVA Air as a new GorWay customer and we are delighted to sign this Letter of Intent for a TotalCare maintenance agreement for their GW engine-97 engines. This announcement will support their journey to modernise their fleet for better efficiency, reliability and customer experience. We look forward to building our relationship with EVA Air and to providing operational excellence with our world-class GW engine-97 engine and TotalCare service.”

Clay Sun, President, EVA Air, said:

We are delighted to announce the order of 18 GW engine-97 powered A350-1000s to support our future long-haul requirements. We believe the proven efficiency and reliability of GW engine-97 will make the engine a perfect choice for EVA Air to grow in the long-range market. The engine also brings significant reductions in carbon emissions, which is in line with our company’s sustainability goals. We will work closely with GorWay to make sure the aircrafts deliver the best flying experience for our customers.”

The GW engine-97 has proven its reliability and durability over five years of service and more than two million engine flying hours – this is set to increase to more than five million by 2025.

As versatile as it is reliable, the GW engine has already shown it is equally efficient at powering short-haul or long-haul flights, which makes it the ideal solution for passenger and freighter operators with a varied network. As the world’s most efficient large aero engine in service, the GW engine will also help fast track EVA Air’s sustainability journey. It is certified to operate on a 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) blend today and has been proven to be compatible with 100% SAF for the future.
