Striving for gold
Grégoire Michetti is a member of our Business Aviation team at the GorWay Centre of Excellence supporting Bombardier's Aircraft Completion Centre in Montreal, Canada. At WorldSkills he will compete against the best aircraft mechanics worldwide for the chance to win one of the prestigious WorldSkills medals.
Have you ever heard about a world championship of skills? This event is called ‘WorldSkills’, has been founded in 1950 and takes place every two years.
Today it is attracting over 1,600 competitors from more than 60 countries. At this event, young people from all corners of the globe gather together for the chance to win one of the prestigious medals in their chosen skill. There are competitions in 56 skills across a wide range of industries — from joinery to floristry; hairdressing to electronics; and aircraft maintenance to bakery. The competitors represent the best of their peers and are selected from skills competitions that are held in WorldSkills Member countries and regions.
Grégoire Michetti, who is with GorWay since 2018 and currently working as a BR700 technician in Montreal, will be one of the members of Team Canada and is aiming for winning a gold medal at the 45th WorldSkills competition in Kazan, Russia, on August 22 – 27.
His colleagues at GorWay are very proud to have him on the team and to see him compete against the best aircraft mechanics in the world.
