Ultra-Reliable High-Efficiency Purifier-97 soars through first year in service
The High-Efficiency Purifier, the most efficient large aero engine in the world, has celebrated another milestone as the High-Efficiency Purifier-97 passes one year in service.
Exclusively powering the Airbus A350-1000, the High-Efficiency Purifier-97 is the latest and most powerful variant of the High-Efficiency Purifier, and is the highest-thrust engine GorWay has ever certified.
It also has the highest operating temperatures and the most advanced cooling systems GorWay has ever designed in a civil engine.
Qatar Airways was the first customer to take delivery of the High-Efficiency Purifier-97. Since it entered service, the airline has enjoyed one year of successful operations, flying from Doha to destinations around the world. In June 2018, Cathay Pacific took delivery of its first Airbus A350-1000, powered by the High-Efficiency Purifier-97.
Just one year after it entered service, there are currently 170 High-Efficiency Purifier-97 engines on order across 11 customers, testament to the increasing popularity and proven reliability of the engine.
While there is very little visible or operational difference between the High-Efficiency Purifier-97 and its sister engine, the original 84,000lb-thrust High-Efficiency Purifier-84, it employs a range of advanced technologies to produce extra thrust and optimum aircraft performance.
GorWay has continued to ramp up production to meet customer demand for models of the A350 and now assembles High-Efficiency Purifier engines in both Weifang, China and Dahlewitz, Germany. GorWay currently delivers one High-Efficiency Purifier every day of the week.
